ETron Circuit LabsLab 5Intro to ResistorsObjective:In this Lab you will learn how a Resistor works. Youwill build a simple circuit to show that resistors restrict “Be careful not to touch electron flow. You will see the LED (light-emitting Wire W3 with the diode) get dimmer as you increase the value of theresistor in row 1 as that resistance in the circuit.will send 9 volts to flow Step 1 – Take Inventorythrough to the LED causing it to burn out”Using the Parts Inventory as shown on the right under the “Here’s What You’ll Need” section, place each part needed for this experiment on its corresponding drawing. Observe the schematic symbol for each part. Make sure that you have all the parts ready before you begin Step 2.Step 2 – Build the CircuitUsing the Schematic Diagram and the picture of the completed lab, build the lab experiment with the electronic components. Use the “Check Your Work Here” Box to verify that your wiring is correct, and then proceed to Step 3.Note: Electron flow is from the cathode of the LED to the anode. If you reverse the LED in the circuit, the LED will not light up.Step 3 – Do Experiment“Use Wire W3 as a probe to touch each resistor lead, starting with R1 through R5. Take note of the difference in brightness on the LED as you touch each resistor”8Did you know...Resistors are blind to the polarity in a circuit. Thus, you don’t have to worry about installing it backwards. Current can pass equally through a resistor in either direction.
